Volunteers
We already have a number of people offering to help, knowing that this is a great way to truly experience the conference.
To make the White Rose conference truly successful, the more people pitching in and helping the better.
In most instances we are only asking for an hour of your time, or longer if you are prepared to give it.
There will be a thorough briefing for all volunteers so they are confident of their role.
Here are the roles we are looking for any assistance you can give:
- 1st Timers’ Competition Co-ordinator
The competition is in place, we need someone to host the Friday afternoon and Saturday morning welcome parties, and look after the competition.
- Reception Helpers
We need people to cover the rush of delegates registering so the process is smooth.
- Sergeant at Arms
To assist with the workshops and the speech contests.
- Workshop Introducer
We are looking for someone to introduce each workshop presenter.
There are 6 workshops on the Saturday morning and 1 on Friday afternoon.
Please note – introducing a speaker is a speech in one of the Advanced manual projects
- Aide-de-Camp
We need people to help delegates to workshops, speech contests and meals.
The hotel is an interesting mix of Victorian and modern, which means people can easily lose their bearings.
We will be putting signs up in the hotel, but we need more than that.
- Timers
Both speech contests need two timers and each workshop needs to have a timer.
- Parliamentarian assistance
Cecil Kirk has only a short time to process all club, area and division vote proxies, etc.
He hasn’t asked, but I’m sure help will be appreciated.
- Assistants for the visually impaired and otherwise disabled
We wish everyone to fully enjoy the full conference.
Help for those with disabilities will be most welcome.
If you feel able to help make the conference one to remember, both for you and the delegates, then use the contact@whiteroseconference.org address to tell us what you would be interested in helping us with and what times during the conference.
