Hi I’m Phil Heath a member of Toastmasters Leeds and Harrogate. I’ve been a member since 2003 and have thoroughly enjoyed helping people of all types improve their speaking and leadership skills. Like Michael below, I am 53 but a younger, more intelligent, fitter version and definitely not a chartered accountant (if you believe the first part of that sentence then please send me an e-mail with your bank account details so I can forward you the £3,000,000 I have waiting for you!)

Last year I achieved my DTM with the help and support of fellow members and this year I am doing the whole programme again so I can improve my own skills still further. Added to this I was VPE and President at Leeds and I am currently Treasurer at Harrogate.

Part of the route to DTM involves becoming involved as a District Officer and 2007/08 I was Area 15 Governor supporting clubs in Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds & York!

I am also sponsoring a new club in Sheffield. The whole point about opening new clubs is that we open up this experience to a wider range of people and give more members the chance to become Area Governors so they can achieve their Advanced Leader award.

What’s in it for me?
