I have been a member of Toastmasters since July 2007 at Leeds City Toastmasters.  I worked hard through 2008 and gained my Competent Leader – you can see that I am focused on the Leadership Track: I still have three speeches to do to complete my Competent Communicator award but am away with planning how to complete the next Leadership tasks!

In September 2009. a fellow Toastmaster and I launched Impishly Speaking Lincoln ( after the famous Lincoln Imp to be found in the Cathedral), meeting at The Imps (Lincoln City) Football Ground so I have another excuse reason not to write speeches !

There are three main reasons you’ll get to know me at the Conference are:

  • If you’ve booked a room, I’m the one allocating them
  • If you have any dietary limitations, I’m liaising with the hotel to ensure that we all have plenty to eat.  There are lots of things I can’t eat, so I was made for the job.  The hotel have been wonderful and I can assure you that the Saturday Gala Dinner is both Gluten-free and delicious!
  • If this is your first time at a Toastmasters Conference, you will be meeting my and my colleague at the First Timers’ briefings.  There’s a competition, so bring a pen !

Personally, I’m looking forward to attending the Council Meeting – it’s always fascinating and instructive to see how your organisation is run.
