About the Conference
Toastmasters International District 71 invite you to the White Rose Conference. This will be held at the Royal Hotel, York from 13th to 15th November 2009. Online booking opens shortly.
The three day event includes workshops, humorous speech and table topics competitions, council meeting, a costume party and a gala dinner. For partners not participating in the daytime activities there is a DISCOVER YORK programme available for no extra charge. More details are being added to this website as the conference date grows nearer.
About District 71
Toastmasters is an international organisation. District 71 covers all clubs in UK and Ireland.

Something special
Since all of the hotel rooms are now allocated and since even the hotel catering is booked up, the conference committee have decided to release a ‘no frills’ special package. For full details click here.
Time is running out….
Yes, we’re on the home run to the White Rose Conference. Everything is in place for a superb successful event and despite the current economical climate bookings have been higher than for previous conferences. Read these important notices now to avoid disappointment.
The ‘turns’ are booked
The entertainment for both the Friday night Fancy Dress Banquet and Ball and the Saturday night Gala Dinner have now been confirmed.
Competition Winner
The draw for the room upgrade was made on Tuesday 22nd September.
The draw was made using a specialised web facility which allows organisations to operate such draws with total impartiality.
First Timers’ Competition
Don’t tell the District Executive but the most important people at any conference are those attending for the first time.
At the White Rose Conference we recognise this and we wish that every first timer gets a great experience. We wish them to have a great time and to go away having learned a lot as well.

The conference team chose the Royal Hotel, York because we believe it meets the high standards we set out at the beginning of this journey to host the White Rose Conference.

Cotswold ConferenceThe District 71 Cotswold Conference at the Four Pillars hotel in May was a great success. Hundreds of members attended, ate, drank, danced in true Toastmaster fashion.
Speaking Contest News
Club Competition WinnersMichael J. Clarke took on the Herculean task of contacting over 200 clubs in District 71 to compile a list of all the winners that will go through to their respective area competitions.

Keeping Your Conference GreenThe White Rose Conference committee have taken special care to minimise the environmental impact of the conference by choosing a location that is easily accessible by public transport.
We have also adopted many other environmental friendly practices.
